An action filled adventure featuring virtually every outdoor sport possible in the Land Down Under! We will mountain bike on lush rainforest tracks, canoe through the jungle, hike into the wilderness on secret Aboriginal trails, kayak remote ocean islands, and dive colorful reef environments.
This is an incredibly active way to explore the lush wilderness found in Australia's Queensland. An outdoor playground, Queensland has untouched tropical rainforests, remote mountains, rivers, tablelands, small pristine islands, and of course the amazing Great Barrier Reef. Some of our explorations take us into parts of Queensland seen by very few, and all of our adventures allow us to truly experience Australia.
A shorter, 10-day trip similar to this is run year round. No previous experience or special gear is required. Just bring a sense of adventure and a desire to have fun. This is a tropical adventure like no other!

MARINE LIFE, ROCK ART & RAINFOREST
Scuba
Diving, Hiking, Rock Art & Rainforest Exploration.
16 days 9 - 24guests
- dive the Outer Great Barrier Reef for 5 days
- hike to areas rich in Aboriginal rock art
- dive the Cod hole, Pixie Pinnacle, & Osprey Reef - A Coral Sea Atoll
Hover within a foot of 300 lb. Potato Cods, dive an atoll where the walls drop down thousands of feet and the visibility exceeds 200 ft., swim with pelagic (open sea) fish, pass over 4 ft. long clams, see some of the best preserved Aboriginal rock art in Australia -- you will do all of this on this adventure.
On our live-aboard we explore the Great Barrier Reef amidst the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea. Here are huge pelagics including Potato Cod, sheer walls of coral and an abundance of gaudily colored fish. All sites visited have fantastic snorkeling as well. In addition to diving there is also the
chance to join the onboard research team and we can learn more about the marine life and the reefs we visit. Depending on the departure we may track sharks, or in June or July we will be amazed by the close encounters with Minke Whales. We can spend hours in water with 4 to 30 of these huge but agile mammals.
We then trade our fins for walking shoes and hike into the outback on
Cape York, a wild and exotic peninsula. Here we explore the rich mythology
of the Dreamtime and visit a recently discovered Aboriginal art site.
The site is considered one of the best in Australia. Altogether it is
an awesome dive trip that explores the unique Aboriginal culture and Australian
rainforest as well.
